Welcome to Temple Kol Shalom (Voice of Peace)
Temple Kol Shalom welcomes our Foothill and Sacramento-area neighbors seeking a URJ Affiliated Reform Jewish congregation in El Dorado Hills.
At Kol Shalom we celebrate our Jewish tradition in a friendly atmosphere that encourages a feeling of community. Dual-faith and diverse families will find a warm welcome here as we observe our Jewish tradition through festive holiday celebrations and worship services.
Our services are lead by Dr. Dale Wallerstein; with her beautiful voice and spiritual insight, she seamlessly weaves the ancient messages of Torah with beautiful melodies in a worship experience that draws in our young members and is meaningful for adults.
Among Sacramento area temples, Kol Shalom is seen as a fresh young face even though our synagogue is linked to an historic Jewish community that began during the California Gold Rush.
Temple Kol Shalom's Sunday School is a vibrant parent co-op that is focused on Jewish education in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. The Religious school meets twice each month for Jewish learning and Hebrew class where we help our children to grow, learn and live with a sense of community and positive Jewish identity. We have learning opportunities for adults as well.
Our Vision
Temple Kol Shalom provides a Jewish family in the foothills. As a
caring community, we meet diverse needs for Jewish practice and study,
spiritual growth and social responsibility.
Mission Statement
As a Reform Jewish congregation, Temple Kol Shalom is committed to
the three pillars of our faith:
- Torah: Promotion of lifelong Jewish learning including
Sunday School, Youth Group and Adult Education,
- Avodah: Building Community through joyful, spiritually
fulfilling worship and celebration of Jewish traditions, and
- Gʼmilut Hasadim: Acts of Loving Kindness that repair the
world, beginning in our local community and extending to the State
of Israel, the Jewish people and all humanity.
We welcome members of all ages, diverse backgrounds, and family
configurations who enrich our Jewish community through active
participation.
